My name is Sandra Martinez and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Orange County, CA. I am trained in various evidence-based models of treatment and utilize an integrative therapeutic approach to optimize the needs of the clients that I serve. I have a collaborative approach to goal setting with clients. I work with the client to see what they would like to get out of therapy and what changes they want to make. I typically work well with young adults and teens who are willing to explore and make changes in their life. My communication style is very calm, empathetic, open minded, direct, personable, and I enjoy using humor as appropriate. Hi there! My name is Alyssa and I’m a licensed therapist in California and Nevada. I am passionate about helping individuals create long-lasting and holistic change. I believe when we are struggling with internal conflict, it can be challenging to have relationships with others and live a fulfilling life. Everyone is capable of creating change, however, sometimes we need support from others to be able to get there and I would love to provide that for you!
My mission on earth is to help people live authentic, fulfilling lives. There are many things holding us back from this way of being: patterns of thoughts and behaviors that no longer serve us, fear, depression, anxiety, shame, loneliness. In the virtual world we are more connected than ever, and we are also in a time of profound disconnection - from our body, ourself, others. Therapy is a great way to get connected. To start living the life you dream of. Perhaps to begin dreaming that a better life is possible. I'm here to walk with you on your journey every step of the way. Together, we will discover who you are and make a plan to get you where you want to be. Self-knowledge, acceptance, compassion, forgiveness, and change are not easy. But the end result is more freedom, possibility, and love. I'm ready to walk your journey with you. Are you ready? "There is a difference between knowing the path and walking the path." ~Morpheus, "The Matrix"
I work best with the misfits: geeks & nerds, punks, skaters, artists, musicians, writers, and activists. . . those who "rage against the dying of the light." My area of expertise consists in helping with difficulties in social relationships. Such difficulties include finding and sustaining healthy intimacy, healing from a painful break-up or divorce, school-related problems, recovering from major loss, and growing up in difficult circumstances. I am particularly suited to helping those who have cultivated their intellects and creativity but would now like to develop a greater awareness of their emotional world. Psychoanalytic thought informs my approach, but I'm far from being the silent, blank therapist. I think the psychoanalytic tradition provides the richest and most sophisticated exploration of how we love, work, and play.

Developmental trauma (experiences as we grow, including our family of origin) shapes how we see the world, sometimes unsafe and challenging to navigate. Our attachments are the foundations in which we trust or find conflict. Developmental trauma may manifest in the body as anxiety, stress, distress, relationship difficulties, depression and more. There is healing to be found here, to be understood and nourished. Well done on the first step in a journey toward wellness. The most important aspect of therapy is finding a person who makes you feel safe and heard. I look forward to collaborating. I have training and experience in working with trauma, family of origin/generational cycles, attachment disruptions, complicated grief and loss, sexuality, sex work and with LGBTQAI+ persons. I love working through emotions, trauma and somatic experiencing. I am Level I Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy trained. I enjoy working with and understanding folx from their perspective; I work with singles, couples, non-monogamous consensual relationships and families. I provide a safe, unassuming space in which you can find felt safety. I appreciate the eclectic person you are and would like to help you identify your own cracks, so that you can let your own light in. Hi there! The population I typically see are individuals who would like to overcome disturbing events in their life that may be causing them depression, anxiety or low self-esteem to name a few. To treat this, I use a technique called EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). EMDR uses bilateral stimulation via tapping chest/arms/knees or eye movements while processing past disturbing events. I make sure to follow your pace and that you feel safe enough to take this step. If you do not wish to do EMDR, I can offer you a safe space to talk about any issues you may have. I have been treating clients since 2014. My private practice is established in Oxnard, CA and I serve clients through tele-health and in-office. Safety allows for exploration. Come on, let's explore together. I offer a free 15 min. phone consultation to see if I would be a good fit for you. Hablo Español.
Hi! I am a 2nd generation Taiwanese American woman who specializes in providing culturally-attuned psychotherapy to ethnic minority populations. Areas of clinical expertise include mood disorders, anxiety, depression, relationship problems, family conflict, intergenerational trauma, and minority stress. I am passionate about working with clients who find themselves dissatisfied with where they are in their relationships with themselves, with others, or with life in general and are looking for a change. I love to work with individuals who are driven to develop more insight into who they are and why they engage in certain patterns of emotion and behavior over and over again in order to move towards more fulfilling and healthy patterns. I specialize in providing culturally-attuned therapy to diverse, ethnic minority populations. The field of psychology is still largely White dominated, and I take pride in providing culturally-attuned psychotherapy for ethnic minority patients where we incorporate cultural stigma, intergenerational trauma, minority stress, and more into our work together. Life can be so complicated and challenging to navigate alone! Your presence here tells me that a part of you wants to seek safety, harbor connection, and to grow as a person. Finding a therapist who is a good fit can be very challenging. I would love to chat with you briefly over the phone to see if we would be a good fit to work together towards your goals.
Stress is fine but chronic stress can impact your ability to be decisive. If you are overthinking it on your own or talking in circles with anyone who will listen, it's time to get unstuck. If you are feeling overwhelmed and not even sure who you are anymore, figure out your next simple and actionable move. Your next decision could beautifully change the game. I am your thought partner for the next chapter.

At the Heart is a community counseling center whose goal is to bridge the gap that exists in access to services and to help heal our community, families, and individuals. All members of our community need respect and acceptance. Our counselors provide a caring and non-judgemental environment for clients to get the support and encouragement they need, when they need it. We provide both traditional/secular counseling and Christian based counseling, determined by a client's preference. We meet our clients where they are at and work collaboratively to help each client achieve their individual goals. We have several different kinds of providers. We have a Peer or Lay Counseling Division which is an every day person that is passionate and has a heart for helping others, life experience, and has completed a 13 week (40 hour) counseling course through At the Heart. The course addresses depression, trauma, anxiety, suicidality, grief/loss, child abuse, domestic violence, addiction, and mindfulness. These providers could be nurses, teachers, stay at home parents, retirees, and so on. They have an open heart and a willingness to listen and encourage. We have a Professional Division which involves Trainees, Associates/Interns, and Pastors. Trainees are Graduate/Doctoral school students in the field of counseling that need to acquire hours towards graduation and licensure. Associate and Interns are Post-Masters/Doctoral Graduates that are accruing hours towards licensure in Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, or Professional Clinical Counseling. All of our counseling staff receive weekly case consultation and supervision by a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist that has special training in supervising non-licensed clinicians.
