Therapists for college students near Los Angeles, CA
I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California with a passion for helping people grow into their most authentic selves while navigating the real challenges of everyday life. College can be an exciting yet difficult time. If you are needing support navigating new transitions at school, preparing for graduation or entering the job field I am ready to work alongside you. I work with clients who are managing big emotions, feeling stuck, or struggling in their relationships and sense of self. I use a blend of DBT, Internal Family Systems, and Narrative Therapy to help you make sense of your past, understand your patterns, and build new ways of coping so you can feel more grounded, confident, and in control.
What is an Authentic Life Path? The question should really be What is YOUR Authentic Life Path? Often in the hustle and bustle of the “real world” we kind of just go with the flow and often lose ourselves. Sometimes it is scary to live our lives authentically. Living authentically means the person you feel you truly are on the inside. I started my career in the IT field, but realized I did not have a passion for it or enjoy it. I wanted to help others. I became a licensed marriage and family therapist, and am now living my authentic life path and want to help you find and live yours. I specialize in working with children, tweens, teens and adults who identify as transgender or genderqueer. I also specialize in the LGBTQIAA+ community. I work with all religions and spiritualities and all types of families no matter what the unique makeup. I provide a safe, supportive environment for you to explore yourself and grow into your most authentic self and find the path that is right for you. Give me a call or email if you have any questions.
I work with people of all ages on relationship and mental health issues. One area of specialized training I have is the use of supplements, vitamins, and dietary modification to boost mental health and reduce unwanted mood and behavior symptoms. Please read more about my practice at my website, where you can also access my online scheduler to sign up for a free phone consultation at a time convenient for you.
Even baddies get saddies — and anxiety, right? I get it as I’ve been there and it’s no fun trying to figure things out yourself. Therapy with me isn't about finding a band-aid to make your feelings go away. We’ll take time to understand why you feel, experience, and express emotions the way you do. Don't worry, we’ll go at a pace you feel comfortable with, if/when you're ready to go there. Finding ways to deal with the worries, sadness, stress, burnout, and self-doubts is another important part of therapy and isn’t one-size-fits-all. We’ll take time to unpack everything and tailor things to what your needs are. There are probably things, like old memories and experiences, that have stuck with you for some time. They might impact your self-esteem, your relationships, and how you move about in your life on a daily basis. We’ll work through any obstacles to help you move forward by taming that self-judgy voice of yours and so much more. If any of this sounds relatable at all, let’s schedule a brief phone or video call to see if we'd vibe together. You could tell me more about what you’ve been dealing with and what you're hoping to get out of therapy. I'll share with you how we could work towards your goals together.

The origins of many psychotherapeutic approaches come from a Eurocentric and Male perspective. The very history of psychology as well as current diagnostic criteria are guided by Eurocentric standards. Intersectionality challenges the history of psychology, the therapeutic approaches, as well as the DSM (the therapist "bible") by encouraging a clinician to take a step back and look at all the identities that present with each and every client. Intersectionality in therapy allows for a more well rounded and appropriate form of treatment that takes into account the impact of discrimination on our emotional well being as well as the resiliency and strength that can come with our identities

I enjoy working with client's of all ages. I work hard to get to know each of my clients and then create interventions and goals that fit them individually. I believe that you are the author of your own story, and I am just there to help you re-write chapters and create new ones. I enjoy working with young people who want more for their lives but aren't sure how to get there. I am passionate about decreasing stigma around therapy, changing people’s experience of of therapy, or maybe what they believe therapy is like. The name of my practice, Rebel Well, represents peoples need to be a little rebellious at times, challenge the norms, challenge the voices in their heads that keep them from thriving. A little rebellion can be a good thing. My biggest belief in this work is you are not the problem, the problem is the problem. I want to support each person holistically, and that can mean different things to different people. I practice from a client centered approach meaning that I use each client’s individual presentation to create a plan, interventions, and goals.

We have a Professional Division which involves Trainees, Associates/Interns, and Pastors. Trainees are Graduate/Doctoral school students in the field of counseling that need to acquire hours towards graduation and licensure. Associate and Interns are Post-Masters/Doctoral Graduates that are accruing hours towards licensure in Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, or Professional Clinical Counseling. All of our counseling staff receive weekly case consultation and supervision by a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist that has special training in supervising non-licensed clinicians. Be assured, you will be provided with quality care and support. It is a team approach. Contact us today to speak with a scheduler who will match you with a counselor who is best suited to meet your needs.
We often face difficult hurdles in life where we are unsure of what path to take next. Life is not to be navigated alone and it takes bravery to ask for help. I believe finding the right therapist you are comfortable with is essential for growth and healing. My approach focuses on compassion and self-reflection as we navigate through some of those difficult life hurdles. My areas of focus include adjustment, mood disorders, personality disorders, PTSD, trauma, relationship issues, suicidal thoughts and feelings, self-harm, life transitions and parenthood. As a military veteran, former foster youth, and now a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist, I have learned that everyone experiences pain and feelings differently and with the right support and skills, therapeutic goals can be met. I am committed to supporting my clients toward a path of empowerment, self-awareness, understanding, and compassion to my clients while helping them to identify and reach their therapeutic goals.

Life can be many things—colorfully painful, beautifully complicated, and at times, completely overwhelming. And it doesn’t come with a how-to guide. We all experience complicated twists and unexpected turns that cause sadness, worry, anger, and destructive patterns with food, drugs, alcohol, and within our closest relationships. I help children, adults, families, and couples break free from unhealthy cycles, rewrite their life narratives, and make changes to create a life truly worth living. Our lives are too short to lose precious time to unhappiness, feeling hopeless, and being “stuck” in the same vicious cycles. Through therapy, I can help you create a richer, more meaningful and fulfilling life for yourself, your family, and your relationships.
Therapy is a partnership between you and me. My desire is to help you achieve your goals, to find your life purpose, to resolve your issues, whatever they may be. Change comes from within you—and that’s where we focus—on your body and the traumas it holds—so with can release them through various techniques that can really create true change inside you. Whether you are an individual or a couple, whatever you bring into the therapy office can be transformed. I believe in movement—that together we will make changes in your life. Let's not dwell on the traumas of your past—instead, we can work on releasing them from your body and your soul. Specialties include couples counseling, divorce mediation, spiritual growth, and life transitions. If you are in a relationship that is stuck in some way, or it looks like it’s getting worse, couple’s counseling can be very helpful and supportive for both parties. If you are an individual, working with me can be very supportive and expansive.
Therapy is truly an odd place. It is a social, emotional, and mental experience unlike any other. You are plucked from your life and placed in a room or screen where the process and conversations revolve around you and your life. This can be daunting and debilitating, but also transformative, fascinating, and full of wonder and opportunity. Sometimes our lives ask that we be machines like everyone else, regurgitating what everyone else is doing. We are conditioned to disconnect from ourselves in order to function in this society. We are told there’s only one version of ourselves that is acceptable. My attempt will be in accompanying on your journey of building your individual unique identity and vitality. I have had multiple years of experience working with students that are navigating feelings of inadequacy, shame, and loneliness. I also have worked extensively with supporting students in highly competitive environments with pressure to conform, while building their authenticity and their voice. My practice is catered towards building a space for the client and their individual needs.
You may be feeling marginalized or misunderstood by your church community and loved ones if your gender or sexuality don't fall into historically traditional norms. Or you might feel alone in your process if you are deconstructing your faith because there isn't a safe space to express doubts or ask faith-related questions. Or you might be feeling completely burned out in your ministry leadership role with nowhere to turn. If any of these scenarios describe you, you need a safe space to fully express all aspects of who you are and what you're experiencing in order to align with your values.
