Therapists for college students near 02139
I approach each client with a wide angle view–considering all the factors that contribute to a client’s presenting concerns. For those interested in traditional psychotherapy, I draw from 20+ years of experience using a range of therapeutic interventions (psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, mindfulness focused) to offer individual and parent support services. In recent years I have been expanding my expertise and services to include other holistic modalities, specifically biofield tuning, which has allowed options for using sound and energy focused work to address emotional issues. For interested clients, I weave together the benefits of psychotherapy with biofield tuning to create a unique healing experience.
Hi! I'm Victoria. I'm an EMDR, Somatic, and Narrative Therapist who specializes in supporting young adults who have been impacted by childhood, relational, medical trauma and phobias. I'm passionate about empowering survivors of complex trauma to break generational cycles, learn what their minds and bodies need to feel safe, and finally get out of survival mode.

In our work together I would take a blended therapeutic approach and individualize treatment based on your personal needs, strengths, and goals. My professional journey is deeply rooted in a commitment to fostering healing and resilience in the lives of individuals facing emotional challenges. I have worked for over 15 years with children, adolescents, teens, and adults who feel overwhelmed with worry, stress, and trauma. One of the most rewarding age groups I work with are young adults, navigating transition to college and their experiences throughout. Their progress and bravery has inspired me to narrow my focus to deliver the highest quality care with empathy and thoughtfulness. My focus has been dialectical behavior therapy, treating anxiety with cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness, helping clients find a life worth living beyond their depression, combining behavioral interventions with cognitive strategies, and helping clients take control of their lives by actively making changes. Our past experiences contribute to who we are today but do not have to control our future.
At North Star Therapy, I offer a compassionate, evidence-based and solution-focused approach to mental health. I am dedicated to providing clients with tools and strategies that will stay with them for life. I am committed to supporting and guiding you, helping you overcome any obstacle, and taking the first step towards a brighter tomorrow. I have worked and trained across a variety of therapeutic/clinical settings, including public schools (k-12), Lead Clinician for a school district, a 'Big Ten' university, hospital in-patient and intensive outpatient settings, and private practice. In 2019, I leaned into mindfulness, meditation and the power of somatic exercises by completing a comprehensive 200-hour yoga teacher training program. Additionally, I am a certified Intuitive Eating Counselor; Be Body Positive Facilitator; and DBT certified to facilitate skills groups.

Welcome! It takes a lot of guts to look for a therapist and by doing so you’re already starting the hard work of healing. Every part of yourself is safe to exist in my therapy office: the scared, the angry, the perfectionist, the beautiful. My goal is to allow your whole self to feel seen and understood, without judgment. Clients have described me as approachable and having a healthy dose of humor. I lead my sessions with a warm, friendly, and empathetic demeanor. I’ll laugh with you, cry with you, challenge you, and support you through your difficult moments. I aim for our work to be a partnership. Together we can find ways to tame your harsh inner critic and establish skills to work through the hard stuff. We will approach your thoughts, feelings, and actions with a sense of curiosity and compassion. I specialize in art therapy and would love to utilize art in your therapeutic journey. Sometimes there aren't words to describe how you’re feeling and art can help find the words you've been struggling to say. Don’t worry, you don't have to be a talented artist – but it can be nice to have a physical representation of your emotions.
I support emerging and young adults navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, relationship challenges, school adjustment difficulties, and difficult life transitions. In sessions, I help clients process challenging experiences, explore emotions and behavioral patterns, and learn coping strategies to facilitate deeper understanding that supports overall well-being. I provide culturally responsive, neurodiversity-affirming, and LGBTQIA+ inclusive psychotherapy. I offer virtual sessions through a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. Please message me or visit my website if you have any questions!
As a licensed mental health counselor, I work with adult clients to address anxiety, depression, and life stressors. Each person has their own strengths, and I enjoy helping clients work with their individual tools to find sustainable balance. From years of experience working in outpatient therapy, I have developed an eclectic approach to counseling- pulling from ACT, mindfulness based, solution focused, and nature based orientations. I specialize in treating anxiety related disorders, but work with many clients struggling with mood disorders, previous trauma, and difficult life transitions. I understand that getting started with therapy or working with a new counselor can be a daunting process, and strive to create an environment in which clients feel supported and collaborative. If this sounds like a good fit, please feel free to reach out!
