There are times when life brings us challenges and presents us with unexpected or difficult situations. We may not always feel in control over the events in our lives. Stress, anger, fear, anxiety, sadness can often become overwhelming. We may not know which way to turn for support or understand how to bring about the positive changes we’d like to see happen. Change is possible. You have taken the most important first step--reaching out--and I am here to work with you, making your goals realities. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and a Registered Expressive Arts Therapist (REAT) with over twenty years of experience working with individuals and families. My approach to counseling is non-judgmental, integrative, and collaborative. I work with you so that, together, we can meet your goals. Expressive Therapy is an important approach I use in therapy and it involves engaging in activities like drawing, storytelling, music, writing as part of the process towards a deeper understanding. It provides the means for us to explore and share authentically who we are, our pain, our joy, and to welcome the support of others on our journey.
I work very well with young people who are struggling to adapt to college or grad school, either socially or academically. I am able to diagnose ADHD and create treatment strategies. I also work very well with students who are struggling to differentiate from their parents or families. Sometimes this look like anxiety or depression, but it can have its roots in dysfunctional family systems. I am good at working with you to identify what you grew up with vs what you need now. I am in training as a sex therapist with a focus on how to get pleasure from sexual intimacy. I like to support sex workers, and can also attend to gaps in sexual functioning.
As a psychologist with a passion for supporting young adults, I’ve had the privilege of working in college mental health settings at institutions like MIT, Tufts, and Boston College. My experience spans all ages, allowing me to connect with people at different life stages. I specialize in LGBTQ psychology and have a strong foundation in women’s and gender issues. I thrive on exploring cultural identities and helping individuals navigate their journeys, whether it’s related to gender and sexuality, race and ethnicity, or the challenges of emerging adulthood. I’m also highly skilled in treating anxiety and depression, and I have specialized training in postpartum mental health. My approach is rooted in psychodynamic therapy, viewed through a multicultural lens. I focus on understanding how your unique life experiences and intersecting identities shape your perspective. Together, we’ll create a collaborative relationship that fosters empowerment, builds skills, and promotes lasting change. As a first-generation, bilingual Armenian American woman, I deeply understand how cultural identities influence mental health and experiences of marginalization. I believe this insight is a powerful asset in our work together. Therapy can be a transformative journey, and I’m here to support your growth and healing every step of the way. <script src="https://thrivingcampus.com/verified.js?pid=26568"></script>

I help clients who are struggling with overwhelming emotions. Specifically, this can be anxiety related to things like social issues and pervasive worry, or intrusive thoughts related to obsessive-compulsive disorder or trauma.
In my counseling work I provide psychotherapy for children, adolescents, adults, couples, families and groups. My clients include people struggling with PTSD, depression, anxiety, and eating disorders. My relational and existential approach helps me understand and connect with my clients. I believe that the intent of therapy is exchanging "symptoms" for "coping skills." To accomplish this transformation, we need to understand our past to shed light on who we are in the present, where we have the power to focus on present issues and make changes that will influence our future. I see psychotherapy as a learning process. I bring my knowledge and understanding of psychological phenomena to bear on my client's life experiences. Psychotherapy is not an easy process, but I work to meet you, the client, where you are and to create safe space to explore and grow. In addition to psychotherapy work, I'm an adjunct faculty at Lesley University, where I teach Introduction to Psychology and Child Psychology. I have completed my psychoanalysis fellowship with the IPE, which is affiliated with the New York University School of Medicine. I'm also a certified Cognitive Behavioral group therapist.
I provide trauma informed LGBTQIA and neurodivergent affirming therapy to young adults in person in Stoneham, Massachusetts, and virtually across all of Massachusetts. I am passionate about working with the LGBTQ community, with a particular interest in assisting young adults on their self-discovery and identity journeys. I also provide neurodivergent affirming therapy to autistic adults struggling with mental health symptoms related to the challenges of fitting into a neurotypical world.

I also have a strong interest and expertise in working with student-athletes. My style is warm, collaborative and nonjudgmental with a focus on my clients' strengths and insights into how best to resolve their concerns. I use an integrative treatment approach which includes elements of cognitive behavioral therapy, ACT, mindfulness and a number of additional techniques. I collaborate with my clients to determine an approach to treatment that works best for them. I am a pre-Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and a Registered Drama Therapist (RDT). If you are feeling anxious, exploring your identities, transitioning to different cultures, environments, or age groups, I am here for you. I create a safe space for you to be heard and feel authentic. Being fluent in Japanese and coming from a different cultural background, my approach is rooted in understanding diverse emotional and cultural perspectives of my clients. I have experience providing individual and group therapy to clients ranging from children to adults with neurodevelopmental disorders, as well as those navigating anxiety, life and/or cultural transitions and trauma. My specialty is expressive therapies, particularly drama therapy. I can utilize drama therapy or expressive arts-based approach if you think that might be helpful. Words sometimes cannot articulate everything you are feeling or experiencing, but I believe imagination, embodied expression, and play can narrate them in different ways. My goal is to support you by navigating your challenges and embracing your unique stories. If you think using words in another language other than English can express your emotions well, we can explore that too. We can find a healthy relationship with your challenges by utilizing your innate creativity. 日本語でもどうぞ!

PMHNP stands for Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I am a nurse practitioner specializing in the treatment of common mental health disorders, such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, insomnia, panic, obsessive compulsive disorder, and mood disorders. I prescribe medication when it is clinically appropriate, as it can be an essential component of a comprehensive treatment plan for many mental health conditions. My approach emphasizes collaboration and informed consent. Any medication decisions are made together, ensuring the patient feels comfortable and supported in his/her/their care. Once prescribed, medications are carefully monitored and adjusted as needed to ensure both safety and effectiveness. Rather than focusing only on symptom management, I take a functional, root-cause approach to understanding each person’s presentation. I am currently completing a functional medicine fellowship to deepen this work, and integrate these principles into my care. This includes using lab testing to uncover underlying imbalances, supporting wellness through nutrition, sleep, and lifestyle, and incorporating nutraceuticals or supplements when appropriate to promote lasting improvement.
I have trained in college counseling, community and hospital settings and specialize in treatment interventions tailored to the needs of college-age students. I offer a flexible approach to psychotherapy including both an appreciation for how past experiences shape the present while also incorporating coping strategies to manage and change every day life in the short-term.

As a clinician, I seek to develop a strong rapport with my clients to promote a collaborative treatment process. I help my clients learn more about themselves and better identify their emotional and therapeutic needs. I believe the opportunity for my clients to develop a sense of agency, and identify how to take action when faced with difficult situations, is key to self-empowerment and growth. I work with my clients to gather information about themselves and their situations, to learn to reflect on their emotions and behaviors in a nonjudgmental way, and to build their confidence to make positive decisions in their life.
Students today face a lot of pressure—academically, socially, and emotionally. You may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, burned out, or struggling to stay focused and motivated. Sometimes past experiences or trauma can make everyday stress feel even harder to manage. I offer a supportive space to talk openly, understand what you’re going through, and learn practical tools to cope with stress, anxiety, and difficult emotions. Together, we can work toward helping you feel more balanced, confident, and supported.
