Therapists for college students near Pittsburgh, PA
I help my clients get results fast. Therapy isn't a complicated process. We meet, we talk about the expectations of therapy, identify specific treatment goals and map out a plan. Our work takes place in the boundaries of a safe, corrective emotional relationship. I put patients’ feelings into words, focus on symptom management and reduce their impact on personal and professional lives. I've been practicing as a licensed psychotherapist and clinical social worker for over 15 years. I use a CBT/ Solution Focused approach in helping patients reduce anxiety and elevate and stabilize depressed mood. I help people move toward wellness in a safe, non-judgemental space. Therapy works. It is about growth and evolution, and I've observed that there is great joy in embracing positive new behaviors based on this collaborative approach. I look forward to working with you via telehealth or in-person in our Squirrel Hill office.

I'm Josh (he/him), and I bring a wide range of skills to the therapeutic relationship. Ranging from non-directive Existential Therapy, to skills based Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, I am equipped to help you identify where you can make changes in your life. Welcome! My name is Eliza, and I am an LSW clinician with experience working with adolescents, teens, and adults with a variety of mental health concerns. Common areas of focus in my sessions include symptoms of OCD, PTSD, depression, grief, anxiety, and phobias. I am also passionate about working with clients experiencing relationship conflict, communication issues, and destabilizing life transitions. I am allied with the trans and nonbinary community, and am sensitive to the many ways that social injustice can impact mental health. My approach to therapy is client-centered. I draw on a range of therapeutic interventions including Solution Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and existential therapies, depending on client needs and wishes. I am committed to helping clients build awareness of personal patterns, and come into alignment with their own values in order to find greater day-to-day fulfillment. I have a warm demeanor, an appreciation for going deep in sessions, and put a strong emphasis on unconditional positive regard.
I work toward internal and external hope, while also acknowledging the difficult realities and stressors that uniquely affect individuals and relationships. I use art therapy, client-centered, cognitive behavioral, and trauma-informed approaches to therapy recognizing that healing and wholeness come as part of a process. In addition to talk therapy, I am a professional Art Therapist. Art therapy can help hold difficult feelings and experiences for all ages while also creating a safe space for non-verbal and verbal expression. No "artistic skill" is needed and life isn't always pretty, so that is not the goal with the art either. My clinical work has focused on treating trauma and various mental health disorders in children and adults. I have provided art therapy and counseling programming in a women’s shelter for domestic violence, Pittsburgh Public schools K-12, and a therapeutic classroom environment. I now work with adults and children in a private group practice setting. I am currently accepting new clients! Feel free to email me with any questions.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist providing psychotherapy for college students and young adults in the Pittsburgh area and throughout Pennsylvania via telehealth. Many of the students I work with are dealing with anxiety, academic pressure, relationship challenges, identity questions, and the stress of major life transitions. My approach to therapy is insight-oriented and collaborative. I integrate psychodynamic therapy with practical strategies drawn from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness. Therapy provides a space to better understand patterns in thoughts, emotions, and relationships while developing healthier ways of responding to stress. Students often come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward. Together we work to clarify what is happening beneath the surface, build emotional resilience, and create meaningful change in areas such as anxiety, depression, relationships, and self-confidence. I provide both in-person sessions in Carnegie, Pennsylvania and secure online therapy throughout the U.S. via PSYPACT. Prior to private practice I trained and worked full time at five counseling counseling centers in various cities.
