I strive to help individuals struggling with distressing emotions, unhealthy relationships, uncertainty, and the overwhelming demands of life. I see a wide range of clients, including those suffering from anxiety, depression, low motivation, relationship issues, and trauma. In therapy, I will help you to develop an understanding of how past experiences influence your current struggles. As you learn about yourself and the origin of your suffering, you will become more self-aware, fulfilled, and equipped to make positive changes. I trained at UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas and have extensive experience in private practice, hospital, and college counseling settings. I seek to establish a supportive, nurturing relationship with clients to facilitate growth and introspection in an environment of compassion, respect, and non-judgmental acceptance. I believe therapy offers a unique experience to learn about yourself, others, and the world. My hope is to join you on a path towards developing a greater sense of wellness and passion that will enrich your relationships, professional endeavors, and personal interests. I sincerely look forward to hearing from you.

I am passionate about helping young adults navigate the transitions, questions, and challenges that come with becoming who they are, on their own. Whether you’re facing anxiety, OCD, depression, trauma, or simply feeling lost in the process of change, therapy can be a place to reconnect with your inner compass. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in mindfulness and self-awareness. Together, we’ll explore the patterns that keep you stuck and cultivate tools to help you feel more balanced, resilient, and at home within yourself and the world around you.

The clients I work best with are: 🌱 Overwhelmed high-functioning perfectionists who like bad jokes. 🌱People who are done with dieting because they know it doesn't work even though they wish it did. 🌱Spiritual weirdos who like tarot, manifestations, energy work, and finding balance with the universe 🌱 People who care about everyone else, leaving themselves for last and wanting someone to call them out when it's not working 🌱 People who make jokes about or completely ignore their trauma in order to deal

The clients I see are sometimes in college experiencing feelings of overwhelm or feeling low. These clients describe their challenges as feeling, “como con miedo,” and also, “no se que tengo.” Other clients I see are future counselors who are at the beginning of their careers and facing imposter syndrome ( “I must’ve slipped through the cracks to get to where I am now”), self-criticism (“Why can’t I get my life together!"), or burnout (feeling fatigued and like you can never catch up). These clients are usually part of activist movements or workplaces and I believe in helping the healers that are out in the world making a positive impact on society. I benefited greatly from my own experiences with counseling when I was in grad school (still do) and I hope to provide the same non-judgmental opportunities to cry or laugh or both to future clients. In my work I value humility, curiosity, self-compassion and humor. I believe these are needed to provide authenticity and support at a time when people starting out in their fields of work are taking in new information that is stretching/challenging perspectives and care for the self is a necessity to continue doing challenging work.

With over 10 years of experience in pastoral counseling, I bring a compassionate and grounded presence to the counseling relationship. My background includes walking with individuals through grief, anxiety, depression, and life transitions, as well as exploring questions of faith, identity, and meaning. These experiences have shaped my approach as one rooted in empathy, insight, and hope. I am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and completing my practicum at AE Counseling under the supervision of Ami Evans. My goal is to provide a safe and supportive space where you can explore your story, reclaim your voice, and move toward healing and growth. Whether you’re navigating stress, loss, relationship challenges, or spiritual concerns, I will meet you with compassion and respect. I believe deeply in the power of connection and in honoring each person’s unique path. My counseling style is trauma-informed and person-centered, integrating clinical best practices with a holistic respect for the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. Together, we’ll work collaboratively to build resilience, strengthen self-understanding, and foster hope for what is possible.

Working with me you will learn new tools to navigate into safe emotional shores. I have worked for 16 years treating anxious and depressed mood, trauma, the integration of contents of dreams and nightmares, somatic and relationship issues, themes of personal growth. My approach is psychodynamic and integrative, promoting a body-mind-spirit connection. I do trauma-informed, attachment, body focused, and cognitive behavioral interventions. It has been my privilege to hold the space for those who are in deep emotional pain, witness their wisdom as they make meaning of their suffering until they feel ready to move on. I work with adolescents and adults suffering from mood and anxiety disorders, complex trauma, women’s issues, narcissistic abuse, attachment issues, and personality disorders. I also work with couples to improve communication, develop healthy conflict-resolution skills, and create a long-term family vision and mission that restores harmony in everyday life. I believe psychoeducation and a personalized mental health care plan empower clients to make lasting changes quickly. I create a unique treatment plan for each client with specific, measurable goals. I use therapeutic breathwork, CBT, and DBT to help clients quickly reduce symptoms while evaluating emotional and behavioral patterns that may require longer-term therapy. I approach personality disorders, attachment dysfunction, and identity confusion from a developmental and psychodynamic perspective and have experience treating borderline, narcissistic, and schizoid personality disorders. I earned my B.A. in psychology from the University of Texas at Austin, and after a career as a business executive, returned to school in 2020, earning a Master of Science degree in clinical mental health counseling from Tarleton State University. I am an alumna of the national women’s leadership academy, Leadership America, and was selected in 2015 to be a patient advocate for the National Center for Healthcare Research in Washington, D.C. I am a writer, public speaker, and patient-first healthcare activist, and have published many written works about the dangers of using pharmaceuticals and medical devices cleared (not fully approved) through the FDA's lax 510k marketing process. I enjoy gardening, all forms of creativity and self-expression, love to learn, and believe that where there is humor, there is healing. My husband and I live in Central Texas and enjoy camping with our two dogs and parakeet. We have two adult sons and three granddaughters and believe in the restoration of family relationships as a path to well-being.
