As a warm and person-centered therapist, I believe in partnership with a client to meet them where they are and work towards their goals together. Life can be hard and circumstances can feel heavy, but you've made the first (and often hardest) step to lightening the load and achieving your goals. I specialize in depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and navigating life stressors, as well as other mental and behavioral concerns. I utilize a blended strength-based treatment approach, using but not limited to: cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, and behavior modification.
I am a board-certified psychiatrist specializing in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). I have over 10 years of experience using prazosin and doxazosin to treat PTSD related nightmares and flashbacks. My passion is raising awareness of this and helping people know that there is an effective treatment for this that they may not have heard of. I focus on treating flashbacks and nightmares with prazosin and doxazosin. I can work along with primary care doctors or psychiatric providers if they don't have the level of comfort with these medications. For more information visit my site: www.ptsdrx.org. I look forward to talking to you about how this medication can help relieve your symptoms.
ALL IN PERSON SESSIONS ARE SCHEDULED FOLLOWING INITIAL VIRTUAL INTAKE SESSION. Life brings challenges that can shift our focus and cause us to lose sight of ourselves and what matters most. It is my privilege to offer a compassionate, listening ear—providing support, encouragement, and practical tools to help you navigate these difficult moments. My ultimate goal is to create a safe, unbiased, and nonjudgmental space where you feel truly seen, heard, and empowered. Working with individuals, and families from all , backgrounds, and walks of life is more than a job—it's a dream come true. I am here to serve. I am here for you. Whether you're facing life’s unexpected challenges or seeking personal growth, I’m committed to walking alongside you with guidance, support, and the tools you need to achieve your goals. I look forward to partnering with you on this journey.
Life in your teen and early adult years is overwhelming. Figuring out who you are, fielding all the expectations, managing unknowns about the future, and putting yourself out there socially are all demanding your time and energy. It's a lot. Maybe you’re about to give up, feeling ready to stop being disappointed in yourself, or feeling that this is just how life is, and you need to cope however you can. You've done all the things you thought you were supposed to, and it doesn’t seem like it’s enough. You don’t have to keep pushing through. A meaningful, joyful life is possible for you, too. I work with teens, young adults, and their families to address the “never enough,” “what’s wrong with me,” or “why did this happen to me?” In our work, we will slow down and process the beliefs and patterns that no longer serve you while learning behaviors that support the person you are becoming. My approach is warm and compassionate, yet direct. Teen years and young adulthood are hard enough; you don't have to figure it out on your own. Together, we will work through the self-doubt, feelings of hopelessness, and the sense of isolation so that you can be your unique self—truly seen and valued. Strong and confident.
Of all the relationships we have in our lives, I believe that the one you have with yourself is the most important and impactful. Therapy allows a person to create an authentic relationship with oneself. You’re up late doom-scrolling Instagram wondering why everyone else seems to have it together. It seems impossible to not compare yourself to others and you think, “if I could just lose weight, I’d be happy.” It feels like you’re doing the “right things” but you still worry it’s not enough. You’ve become your own worst critic, constantly feeling like you aren’t living up to your expectations. You can’t help but notice there’s a tightness in your chest when you realize you have another task to add to your to-do list. Lately, it feels like your anxiety is running your life and your self-esteem is at an all-time low. It’s okay to exhale. Therapy is an empowering space to cope with the “what ifs”, build self-compassion, and discover food freedom. Imagine being able to close your laptop at the end of the day and feel accomplished, even if it means you didn’t “do it all.” Picture yourself grabbing lunch with friends and ordering what you actually want, without the guilt. I support college students wanting to heal their relationship with food and their body, and release the pressure to be perfect. I offer a free 15 minute video consultation call to chat about what's bringing you to therapy, answer any questions you have, and see if we'd be a good fit. Send me an email to get started!
