Do you struggle with just being yourself these days? Well, kick off your shoes, relax, put up your feet, let's get real and talk. Many people see therapy as a never ending cycle of therapists sitting with a notepad repeating, "How does that make you feel?". I can assure therapy with me is never a cliche. I know how easy it is to feel alone and always asking why me. Some days it's easy to feel trapped looking for the fastest escape. Others you want to burst into tears or moments you feel like you're making all the wrong choices. I can understand if you need a break and want to scream. I'm here to help. Let's explore those issues you may be struggling with together and take back control of your life.

Feeling overwhelmed by or drowning in the waves that life keeps hitting you with? Maybe you’ve been experiencing high tides for a long time or maybe you are experiencing them more recently due to a particular event in your life. Either way, it can feel exhausting AND you are not alone in this experience. Just as the tides of the ocean shift between high and low and never fully disappear, our life stressors will continue to ebb and flow. I will help you learn ways to navigate through the waves so that you aren’t consumed by them. I have 8 years of experience working with children, teens, and adults clinically in both crisis settings and school settings. I utilize a trauma-informed, integrative therapeutic approach to synthesize modalities to best meet the unique needs and goals of clients. Rather than maintain a rigid plan, I’ll intuitively pivot between Attachment-based therapy, Internal Family Systems, Somatic therapy, and other frameworks to best support the part of you that shows up in need during the session. Systems theory and social justice anchor my practice as I believe we are all deeply impacted by external systems, such as family, friends, careers, community, oppression, etc. I have experience working with clients who have been impacted by PTSD, incarceration, immigration, racial discrimination, homelessness, suicidal ideation, job loss, death loss of a family member, etc. No wave is too big or too small to be worked through in therapy. You’ve taken a huge step; You’ve shown up here for yourself to either start or continue your healing journey. If you feel we may align, please contact me for a free 15 minute consultation!

Licensed Professional Counselor
Austin, TX

Welcome! I am a Judi Yapias board-certified Licensed Professional Counselor, and I specialize in intergenerational trauma and understanding how trauma and stress affect the body. To better understand what your body is signaling, I integrate modalities in my practice such as mindfulness-based therapy, somatic techniques, and trauma-conscious approaches. This is an impactful approach to better understanding big and uncomfortable emotions, what the body is communicating, and those teeny, tiny voices of intuition telling us something is off. My goal is to help you begin the process of understanding and connecting with yourself on a deeper level. We’ll work on building trust between your head and heart and explore all the things about your life - cultural identity, relationships, behaviors, values, feelings, and belief systems. Together, we’ll create a foundation that empowers you to feel more integrated and aligned. Specialties Mental Health Conditions treated Relationship issues Trauma Anxiety ADHD Depression Treatment philosophy Whether you may be experiencing BIG feelings, interpersonal struggles, or wanting to better understand yourself, I am here to support you using a collaborative approach. Through a guided process and integration of mindfulness-based and trauma-conscious approaches, you and I will talk through your lived experiences. Some of these discussions will give you a sense of joy, sadness, frustration, anxiousness, pride, and excitement. As we dig and uncover these stories in a safe space, we often begin a discovery of your strengths and wisdom - from a present you and intergenerational standpoint. This experience is almost like when your body constricts and caves into a discomfort and, once ready to release, it expands and grows. Treatment approach Culturally Sensitive Trauma-Focused Emotionally Focused Mindfulness-Based(MBCT) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy(CBT) Practice description As we get curious about your goals, your story, your values, and your beliefs systems, we process through patterns about how you have survived & protected yourself up until this point and how these patterns affect you and your relationships (familial, platonic, and/or romantic) - looking within ourselves and connecting it to finding our space and belonging in the collective. Throughout this journey, my role is to support you in feeling safe, in a space that prioritizes inclusivity, open-mindedness, and authenticity. Dr. Ryne Pulido PLLC
Psychologist
Georgetown, TX

Hello! I’m Dr. Ryne Pulido. I’m a husband, father, and psychologist in Texas. I’m so excited to help folks build lives experienced as worth living and sharing. I started out as a therapist for children, adolescents, and young adults. Initially, “young adult” referred to college students. Then “young adult” expanded to include medical and law school students. And then it expanded to include early career professionals. Now, it has expanded to early career professionals struggling to #adult. Your struggle is real. Many of my clients struggle with intense emotional pain stemming from feelings of unlovability and fear of rejection. Their pain acts like an emotional dictator that commands them to withdraw from friends, family, work, school, hobbies, passions, interests, and other activities that make life worth living. Increasingly distant from their values (who they want to be deep inside their hearts) and goals (what they want to accomplish), they feel directionless and unsure of their best life because they’re so focused on protecting themselves from emotional pain. If this sounds like you, know it doesn’t have to be this way. You deserve a life worth living and sharing. Imagine what it would be like to control your actions (the things you do and say) amidst an emotional storm. What if you could be the person you want to be and move toward your goals just 20% more often? What would your relationships be like? Where would your career be? How much better would your sleep be?! Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) I utilize a modern form of the tried-and-true Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Although ACT involves a radically new approach to happiness, over 1,000 clinical trials have been published in peer-reviewed journals, demonstrating its effectiveness with diverse populations struggling with a wide range of psychological problems. ACT is focused on creating richer, fuller, and more meaningful lives rather than solely symptom reduction. When your life is bigger, the pain is smaller by comparison. ACT is a very active form of therapy. It’s not just talking about your problems and feelings (although there is always space for that). You will learn practical skills to move from struggling to flourishing. We will move through the program step-by-step, learning skills that build on each other. The good news is the skills are easy to learn and effective. You are headed into the unknown. Unfortunately, counseling and therapy is not 100% effective. Although I accept commercial insurance (if you go through Alma) and the Lotus Fund, the risk of committing time, money, effort, and heart to something that doesn’t work out is very real. I also can’t promise that you won’t feel uncomfortable, judged, and misunderstood, but you will have permission to express yourself and stop anything that is uncomfortable. I’ll listen with an open mind and you’re in the driver’s seat. But you are not alone. It’s your journey, but we’re a team—working together to help you become the person you want to be and build the life you want to live and share. All brains matter. I’ve spent my entire professional career working with neurodivergent folks and their families. I have a special place in my heart for ADHDers, autistics, and people with strong personalities. Are you in Texas, prefer virtual care, and ready to get to work? You can contact me by email (admin@rynepulidophd.com) or by calling or texting 512-537-4743. (Note it can take up to 72 hours for me to return a call, email, or text. If you are in a mental health emergency, call 9-1-1 or go to the nearest ER). …and if you’re sort of ready that’s cool too. Reach out to me to schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation! Need financial help? I offer sliding-scale fee slots via Open Path Collective. These slots are extremely limited, so please get in touch with me before signing up to work with me. I also accept the Lotus Fund via the Asian Mental Health Collective.

College can be exciting—and overwhelming at the same time. Many students come to counseling feeling stressed, burned out, unsure of who they are becoming, or anxious about the future. You might be juggling classes, work, relationships, family expectations, and big questions about identity and direction—while feeling like you’re supposed to have it all figured out. I provide a supportive, non-judgmental space where college students and young adults can slow down, process what they’re carrying, and feel genuinely understood. Counseling with me is collaborative, practical, and focused on helping you feel more grounded, confident, and clear as you move forward. I Work With Students Navigating: *Academic stress, burnout, and pressure to perform *Anxiety, overthinking, and constant mental fatigue *Identity exploration (values, purpose, faith, culture, self-worth) *Life transitions (starting college, transferring, graduating, post-grad uncertainty) *Career uncertainty, major decisions, and fear of “choosing wrong” *Relationship challenges (dating, friendships, family dynamics) *Perfectionism, people-pleasing, and imposter syndrome *Feeling lost, stuck, or disconnected from yourself You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from counseling—many students come simply because they want support during a demanding season of life. My approach is warm, thoughtful, and grounded in evidence-based counseling practices. Sessions are a space where you can talk openly, ask questions, and develop tools that actually help in daily life—whether that’s managing stress, improving boundaries, or making sense of who you’re becoming. If you are a Christian who values faith as part of your life, I also offer Christian counseling upon request. This is always optional and guided by your comfort level.

In a world that often values toughness, being a highly sensitive and soft-hearted person can feel like a burden. We might say “yes” when we really mean “no”. And we may feel like we have to act differently to fit in, even if it means putting others before ourselves. Sometimes it can feel tough to find our inner courage, speak up for what we want, and create positive boundaries. This can be especially true when we’re striving for success in our careers, supporting our loved ones emotionally, or navigating big life changes. Through brainspotting, mindfulness, and somatic techniques, we’ll gently uncover the patterns that have kept you feeling stuck and build the self-trust needed to honor your own needs. As you release emotional weight and reconnect with yourself, you’ll cultivate resilience, confidence, and a deeper sense of balance in your life. If you’re ready to embrace your sensitivity, set healthier boundaries, and reconnect with yourself, I’m here to help. Let’s work together to create a life that feels balanced, authentic, and fulfilling. Reach out today to begin your journey toward healing and growth.
